Reservoir Engineer

Job Description

Reservoir Engineers interpret and convert geological data into reservoir simulation models to show how oil, gas and water are distributed within a specific reservoir. They are also involved in predicting the flow of fluid through rocks by creating simulation models. Analyzing production history and charting results.

Duties include:

• Develops economically viable field development plans for the production of hydrocarbon reserves.
• Forecasts oil and gas flow rates
• Recommends the optimum location for wells to be drilled.
• Estimates oil and gas reserves for specific fields on a regular basis, including input to overall annual reserves forecasting.
• Analyses well performance data.
• Compiles charts, reports and management presentations.
• Provides a range of reservoir engineering support and technical advice and guidance within the business.
• Uses a range of specialist Geosciences technical software, analytical tools, and Microsoft Office suite
• Reports any breaches of safety procedures to supervision / management.
• Actively participates in and promotes company health and safety campaigns, policies and procedures, and ensures personal safety and that of colleagues at all times

Works closely with other technical departments including Geology and Geophysics, to find and extract oil and gas from existing fields as well as searching for potential new development targets or plays. Also works closely with other departments and reporting out to them findings of research and developmental project.
